| Saskatchewan Elks Association |
The original Charter of the Saskatchewan Elks Association was granted on May 27, 1929 under the seal of the Grand Lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and signed by Brother Gerald Sims of Ottawa, then the Grand Exalted Ruler. On the original Charter, one will find inscribed, the names of 32 Lodges and members of the Association.
Shortly after the Association received its Charter, the province was thrown into the great depression.
Much can be said in appreciation of the devotion and dedication of those early Officers who struggled to keep the Lodges and this Association together during those times of hardship.
Through the continued efforts of our local Elks and Royal Purple Lodges, needs of individuals and the community are supported on a local, provincial, and national level. By joining this great order, you receive more than what you give.

The first organizational meeting was held Saturday, January 22, 1994 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to find out if there would be enough interest in forming a ladies Provincial Association in Saskatchewan. Forty ladies were present with 18 Lodges represented, 12 Districts, 7 District Deputies and 2 Past Supreme Honoured Royal Ladies. Why should we form a Provincial Association? Reasons discussed were:
- to support and promote the aims and objectives of Supreme Lodge
- to help Lodges in trouble - membership problems, management problems, and to act as a liaison between Supreme Lodge and the Provincial Lodges
- to coordinate a membership drive for the Province and the development of new Lodges
- to provide an opportunity to meet at the Provincial level with our members in order to share ideas, resources and fellowship
- to provide a vehicle for leadership training
- to be financially sound and independent
- to aid the Saskatchewan Elks with their Provincial functions and charities or to form our own Provincial charity
